Data Deletion
How to have your SocioRep account and data deleted, and exactly what is kept.
Version 2026-08-10 · Effective 10 August 2026
Deleting your data
This page explains how to have your SocioRep data deleted: how to ask, what we remove, what we keep and why, and how long it takes.
There is no one-click delete button inside the product yet. When you ask us to delete your data, a member of our team carries it out, and we complete it within 30 days of confirming your request.
If you used SocioRep without an account, there is no account for us to erase and no address for us to check a request against. That work is held against a cookie in your browser, is removed thirty days after it was made, and can be put out of reach sooner by clearing this site's cookies. Our Privacy Policy sets this out under "Using SocioRep without an account".
What deletion means at SocioRep
Deletion at SocioRep is a hands-on process. You email us, we confirm the request is genuinely yours, and a member of our team erases your account and business data across our systems.
We are plain about this on purpose: a delete button that quietly did nothing would be worse than none. What we offer is a real erasure, carried out by a person, within a set time — and a precise account, below, of the few things that remain.
How to request deletion
Email us from the email address on your SocioRep account — that is how we confirm the request is really yours — and tell us you would like your data deleted.
- General requests: connect@sociorep.com
- Grievances and formal data requests: grievance@sociorep.com
This email route is the way to request deletion, including for data associated with any social-media account you connected. If you no longer have access to your account's address, write to us anyway and we will ask you a few questions to confirm who you are before we proceed.
What we delete
When we erase your account, we remove:
- your account itself — your login and profile details;
- your business information — your Brand Book, locations, offerings, the people you have saved, and the facts and sources tied to your brand;
- the work SocioRep created for you — posts, designs, your calendar, and any blog content;
- your stored files — logos, uploaded images, and the finished posts we hold in storage;
- any channels you connected and the access details stored for them;
- the content of the AI requests and responses generated for your brand.
This is removed across our live systems as part of the erasure.
What we keep, and why
A few things remain, for specific and limited reasons:
- Invoices and payment records. Records tied to money you paid are kept for the period Indian tax law requires. This is a legal obligation we cannot waive. They are unlinked from your account but the records themselves survive.
- A pseudonymous deletion record. We keep a small record that an account existed and was deleted. It holds a one-way keyed hash of your email address rather than the address itself, together with the website domain and whether a trial was used. We can use it to recognise a repeat signup for abuse prevention; it cannot be reversed back into your email address, and it cannot be used to rebuild your data. We call it pseudonymous rather than anonymous because that is what it is.
- Cost and usage accounting. For each AI request made for your brand we keep the accounting record — what kind of request it was, the model, and what it cost — because it is tied to what you were charged. The content of the request and the response is removed, and the record is unlinked from your account.
- Security and anti-abuse records. What we hold to protect SocioRep from fraud and abuse has already been stripped of direct identifiers, and only a limited form is kept for that purpose.
- An internal audit line recording that the erasure happened, and by whom.
How long it takes
We complete erasure within 30 days of confirming your request. In most cases it is sooner. Once it is done we will send a confirmation to the email address you wrote from. If that mailbox no longer accepts mail — which can happen, since the account itself is gone — the erasure is still complete; you are welcome to write to us to confirm.
If you connected a Facebook or Instagram account
If you connected a Facebook or Instagram account to SocioRep and want the data associated with that connection deleted, email us at connect@sociorep.com from your account's email address. We remove it as part of your erasure, within the same 30-day timeline.
Email is the route that works, and it is the one to use.
If you would rather step back than delete
Deleting your data is permanent. If you only want to stop the work for a while, there are gentler options that keep your account intact — pausing new content, deactivating a brand, or pausing your account. Tell us what you are trying to achieve and we will help you choose. You can always come back to full deletion later.
