Hungarian director and screenwriter Ildikó Enyedi has been introduced as president of the Cannes Movie Competition jury deciding the Quick Movie Palme d’Or and the three La Cinef prizes for scholar movies within the Official Choice.
She shall be joined by Iranian-American screenwriter and director Ana Lily Amirpour, actress and director Charlotte Le Bon, French actress Karidja Touré and Israeli filmmaker Shlomi Elkabetz.
Enyedi acquired her worldwide break in Cannes in 1989 when her first movie My twentieth Century was chosen for Un Sure Regard and gained the Caméra d’Or
“When, in 1989, in that magical 12 months of change in Europe I arrived in Cannes with my first function movie – with exhibitions banned, a scholar movie banned and lots of difficulties – it was an unbelievable feeling,” stated Enyedi.

Enyedi’s subsequent works included the Oscar-nominated On Physique and Soul, which gained the Golden Bear in 2017, and The Story of My Spouse, which was in Competitors in Cannes in 2021.
