An offering from Yash Raj Films, Diva’ni is the country&’s first cinema-inspired fashion brand that is all set to re-ignite the colour of passion and power – red.
“The collection is everything a girl aspires for and everything a bride is made of; and a celebration of love, emotions and traditions, all wrapped up in the cinematic experience with contemporary twists to traditional silhouettes,” says Sanya, Creative Director, Diva’ni.
Kundan, gotta, polka, zardozi, velvet, rubies, gems and jewels are hand-stitched putting thought, clarity and eternal purity together.
The imagery that the artisans have created by creatively marrying eclectic mix of Persian motifs with traditional zardozi, kundan and polki makes the style exclusive.
“One outfit takes a span of about 20 days to two months before the finishing touch is given,” says Sanya.
Revealing more about the tailoring and production of the brand, she said that they have workers in Benaras, Lucknow, and Delhi, who are behind all the embroidery and sewing by hand.
“Drawing its essence from pure zardozi embellishments and resham dori work, dainty gotta flowers made using 3D and velvet appliqué are the signature of Diva’ni,” Sanya says.
“Floor-length jackets, cropped cholis, anarkalis and circular ghera lehengas with lots of flairs create that dramatic look. The royal velvet base, the essence of net fabrics, rich brocades and fluid fabrics like raw silk, dupion and georgette enrich the cinematic collection.”
